The Bookworm's Burrow

Come into my reading fort! I'm a jester, and I think books are the best adventures ever. This is where I'll tell you about what I'm reading right now, if it's good, and about all the cool worlds inside them. I read all kinds of books, and I hope I can help you find one you'll love too!

Title: Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster

Author: Justina Ireland

Illustrator:  Petur Antonsson

Book Details:

The Jedi think the dreaded Nihil marauders have been all but defeated. Their leader is on the run and their numbers have dwindled. Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh hopes this means she will finally have time to really train her Padawan, Imri Cantaros—but reports of a Nihil attack on Port Haileap soon dash those hopes. For not only have the Nihil attacked the peaceful outpost, they have abducted Vernestra and Imri’s friend, Avon Starros. The two Jedi set off for Port Haileap, determined to figure out where the Nihil have taken their friend. Meanwhile, Avon must put her smarts and skills to the ultimate test as she fights for survival among the Nihil—and uncovers a sinister plan. Can Vernestra and Imri find their friend before disaster strikes?

First Impressions:

I’m getting ready to read Star Wars: The High Republic: Mission to Disaster, and I’m already super excited! Vernestra and Imri are on the cover, so I’m pretty sure they’re the main characters again. They look like they’re on some kind of weird, new planet I’ve never seen before.

This book is another sequel to the other High Republic stories I already read, so I’m wondering if the Nihil are the ones causing all the trouble again. The Nihil are obviously up to no good, so now I’m thinking, what have they done this time.

I also keep thinking about how the adventures in this book might be like the ones in the other stories. But the world on the cover doesn’t look the same as the last place Vernestra went, so maybe this adventure will be totally different.

I have a feeling Master Yoda and some other characters might get mentioned too, because they always show up somewhere in these books. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!
